Garden City & Franklin Avenue
Nassau's premier office and retail address, with professional offices, upscale retail and restaurants on Franklin Avenue and Seventh Street.
Long Island
Medical practices in Lake Success, offices in Garden City and Uniondale, retail on the Miracle Mile and restaurants across the North and South Shore — commercial construction throughout Nassau County.
Nassau County is one of the strongest commercial markets in the New York region — home to major health systems, corporate office complexes in Garden City, Uniondale and Lake Success, Roosevelt Field and the Old Country Road retail corridor, the Miracle Mile in Manhasset, and thriving village downtowns from Rockville Centre to Port Washington.
Quedan Construction is a Nassau County general contractor building offices, medical and dental practices, retail stores, restaurants and commercial kitchens across the North Shore, Central Nassau and the South Shore. We bring New York City-level project management to Long Island projects — with a clear understanding of how Nassau’s permitting differs from the city’s.
Nassau is one of the region’s largest healthcare markets, with dense concentrations of medical offices around Lake Success, New Hyde Park, Mineola, Garden City and Great Neck. We build physician practices, dental offices, specialty clinics and imaging suites with plumbing to every room, medical gas, shielding and all required inspections.
From professional offices on Franklin Avenue to corporate floors in Uniondale’s office complexes and Lake Success office parks, we build workplaces for law firms, financial services, healthcare administration and corporate tenants — coordinating landlord requirements and local permits.
We build mall tenant improvements at Roosevelt Field, stores along Old Country Road and luxury storefronts on the Miracle Mile, as well as restaurants and bars in Nassau’s village downtowns and waterfront communities.
The biggest difference between Nassau and New York City is permitting. There is no single building department in Nassau County. Building permits are issued by the Town of Hempstead, the Town of North Hempstead, the Town of Oyster Bay, the Cities of Glen Cove and Long Beach, or one of the county’s many incorporated villages — depending on where your property is located. Each municipality has its own forms, review process, zoning rules and inspectors.
Projects follow the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code rather than the NYC Construction Codes. Fire protection systems are typically reviewed by the Nassau County Fire Marshal, and food service establishments are permitted by the Nassau County Department of Health. We identify the correct jurisdiction and process for your address during preconstruction, so your schedule reflects how approvals actually work where you’re building.
